Today is the last day of 2021—a whole year of many things that have challenged us beyond what we thought was even possible has finally come to an end, the last hours of 2021. Some of us will turn the page on 2021 and start the new chapter of 2022, but some won’t. Some souls won’t go into 2022, be it physically or mentally. It has always been unsettling how so many loved ones die unexpectedly at the end of the year; it’s as if the year coming to a close says, “You can’t stay in what’s left in this year.” And the new year ahead says, “you aren’t coming into this one either.”
This last week of 2021 has been an emotional roller coaster. Being caught between the joys and pains of what’s left of 2021—praying for our daughter, who is days away from blessing us with our second grandchild and praying for others trying to end their days left here on this side of heaven.

Yesterday morning I was praying for life coming into this world and for a life, trying to leave this world, wrapping my mind around these two emotions while caring for my little grandson. I was baking up customer cake orders and trying to keep my faith and strength up for the fight that could land at my doorstep any minute, because we all know the devil is always busy at the end of the year. I found it interesting how the joys of 2021 could have one soul excited to come into this world, while the pains of 2021 had another soul eager to leave it, or as Stephen King quoted “The battle between good and evil is endlessly fascinating because we are participants every day.”

When you realize that you are a participant in this battle designed to overtake you, you have to arm yourself, especially when the two emotions of joy and pain are in close proximity to one another, you realize that there is a Spiritual battle going on, and the only remedy for being a participant in such a battle is prayer… Praying to stand against the storms of life. So, as we go about these last hours of 2021…
Let us pray,
Father God, who goes before us all, go into 2022 and continue to cover us with your grace and mercy as we deal with the joys and pains of this world. Father God, continue to overtake us with blessings upon blessings in the new year ahead and as we faithfully obey You, set us in a high place of safety and protect our minds and hearts.
Father God, continue to order our steps for the rides and roads ahead in 2022 and place a shield of protection around us wherever we go to prosper the work of our hands. Father give us good health and strength to do what you have placed in our hearts and contend with anyone or anything that threatens us, our home, our family and the peace we so desire in you.
Father God, as we turn the page on 2021 and enter into a new season, establish us as Your holy people and keep us moving upward in you. Lord, continue to build up our faith through meditating on Your Word, through prayer and praise, and help us to be less dependent on self and others and more dependent on You. Most importantly Father God, help us live and work together on this side of heaven with more humility, more gentleness, more patience, bearing with one another in love…Thank you for this new year…
In Jesus Name Amen.

May the Joy of the Lord instantly become your strength to encourage you to overcome any fears that you might experience. Remember, in our daring to be brave, when we throw caution to the wind, casting our cares in Faith upon Him through the ride. Peace, love, and joy are set loose in the atmosphere, and it permits other riders to do the same. Allowing us to all rejoice in knowing we have triumphant victory in Riding the Good Ride of Faith.
Be strong and of good courage,
